Different Components of Security Alarms

Security Alarms are not mere bell chimes placed in front of your door. They include many components that each plays their own role in the protection of a homes residents and valuables. Read this article to know what items you should be getting if you decide to arm your home against burglars.

Magnetic Contacts

These items are usually placed on door and windows. What happens is that you have a pair of magnetic contacts. You place one on the door and the other one you align it on the door frame. When you turn this on, it will be triggered if the two contacts will lose alignment. You will then know that someone is opening your door and window.

Motion Sensors

Motion sensors sense anything that will be moving outside of your home. Security alarms will need this component to tell if you have any unwanted visitors lurking outside your home. You can set the motion detectors to only detect objects that are human sized, unless you dont mind waking up to alarms because of a rabbit scurrying in your backyard.

Glass Break Sensors

The name speaks for itself. Once a window or a glass door breaks, the sensor will instantly pick that up and trigger the security alarm. They are very sophisticated devices that will detect the break in the glass and the sound of breaking glass as well.

Back-up Power Supply

This is important for security alarms because most often than not, burglars will strike your home when there is no power.
